In order to better meet the needs of seniors and to target its commitments to the senior population for the years to come, the City of Montreal is currently conducting a MADA consultation.

We know that community organizations that support seniors play a leading role in mobilizing their members around issues inherent to their specific needs. We also want to gather the opinion of community workers because of their knowledge of the needs on the ground.

In this spirit, the City of Montreal invites seniors, caregivers, as well as people working with seniors to participate in citizen consultations this spring . These meetings aim to know your opinion and collect your suggestions on the City of Montreal’s future commitments to seniors.

3 ways for community organizations and NPOs to participate:

  • Mobilize your members so that they participate in the consultations. You can also make it an organized activity! You will find attached an invitation intended for seniors that you can share and/or display in your premises as well as an example of a message to broadcast on your social networks, if you consider it relevant.

  • If you believe that it would be easier for your clientele to participate by expressing themselves within the framework of an activity organized by your stakeholders within your organization, we can send you all the necessary tools to your own “home consultation”.

  • Contact marilyne.alerte@montreal.ca if this option interests you.

  • You can participate in virtual or in-person consultations (April 24 to May 19), as a community organization or NPO with a senior clientele. Click HERE to register.

In addition, I will host a lunchtime info on Thursday, April 13 from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. if you want to know more or want to ask questions about the MADA approach and the upcoming citizen consultations.

These citizen consultations on the orientations of the MADA approach will help define the City of Montreal’s commitments to seniors for the coming years. Now is the time to make your voice heard!
