The “Ancestors Gifts” project, led by the West-Can Youth Committee, is an exciting initiative designed to enhance youth participation in cultural activities in Montreal. This project specifically targets young individuals of Afro-Caribbean descent and offers them a unique opportunity to engage in African and Caribbean folk drumming and movement activities.

Through a series of interactive drumming classes and workshops, participants between the ages of 12 and 19 will embark on a journey to explore the diverse rhythms and traditions of Africa and the Caribbean. These sessions are not only focused on skill acquisition but also on stimulating creativity, promoting physical activity, and fostering social inclusion.
